Chicken soup barley soup is very healthy and very nutritious. Good for people who are sick, which could not easily ingest other foods. Served as a starter in most restaurants.

Although there are many variations of techniques and ingredients in the chicken soup, there is one constant that one cannot do without good stock or broth. Without this, Your soup will have a watery taste, and it's no fun to eat. Also, delicious broth and more likely to be healthier for you, because where there is a sense there is usually also a nutrient. Good stocks usually contain some gelatin, derived from the collagen is dissolved from the bone and connective tissue. Gelatin is very nice to bring flavor and nutrients because it can interact with the organic molecules better than water can be.

Chicken Barley soup deliciously simple. Made of pieces of chicken, barley, and vegetables in a flavorful broth! Serve soup recipe is warming stomach 30 minutes eating bread with a side salad for a perfect meal any time of the year!

Chicken Barley soup is a dish that my grandmother used to make. While we most often have beef Barley soup, I love the taste of rich chicken barley soup recipes too! Carrots, celery, chicken, tomatoes, and of course the barley all boiled in chicken broth to make this classic comfort food.

I love making soup is almost as much as I love to eat it. Chicken noodle soup, split pea soup... You name it, I was there. Are this chicken barley soup recipe is no exception. Is this chicken barley soup recipe is no exception. It is so delicious is also really good for you!  What's better than guilt-free comfort food? Does not exist.


Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 clove chopped garlic
  • 8 cups low-sodium chicken broth or homemade
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped Carrot
  • 3 stalks chopped celery sliced
  • low sodium 14.5 oz diced canned tomatoes, lightly drained
  • 3/4 cup pearl barley
  • 2 1/2 cups cooked chicken
  • 2 pieces of bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme


Fresh herbs (optional)
  • 2-3 tablespoons oil
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley


Instructions
  • First, heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large saucepan. Add the onion & garlic and cook until slightly softened. Add remaining ingredients except for fresh herbs.
  • Bring to a boil and let simmer uncovered for 1 hour or until barely tender.
  • Discard the bay leaf and stir in fresh herbs.


Chicken barley is one of our favorites, this one is jam-packed with all kinds of stuff.  Fresh herbs in this soup of fresh dill optional but really add something special to this dish so if possible I would highly recommend it!

As with most recipes, the leftover soup was really delicious so this is perfect for making soup on the weekend and packages for Lunches throughout the week!
